07-Sep-2023: Professional Community Tour in the North – Babcom Centers

This quarter DigitalRosh Tourbus – our professional tour for the community held on September 7, 2023, this time to northern Israel. With friends and community members who joined the tour, we met a social vision realized through business: Technology, Society, and Social.

The vision of Imad Telhami, founder and chairman of Babcom Centers, was, and continues to be, to create dignified and respectful employment opportunities for disadvantaged populations, such as, but not limited to, women in Arab society in the periphery. Babcom’s mission is to create opportunities for minorities and residents of the periphery, inspire them to believe in their ability to excel, dream big, and create a management avenue for advancement and realization of personal aspirations. All this, without sacrificing the business side, to be a successful service solution provider as a unique business company in Israel and around the world.

After a traditional Druze-style lunch, we met Iris Teller, founder of Tzipor Hanefesh Association, in the village of Isfiyya, and the women and men who create and work in its art workshops. Tzipor Hanefesh Association is an occupational organization that employs artists with special needs who are unable to work in the free market and within regular rehabilitation frameworks. The rehabilitation idea behind the project is to enable those rehabilitated in the association to work in a healthy work environment that combines healthy people with special needs and enables normative and healthy working conditions as much as possible. Iris and her team believe that their employees, like any healthy worker, have the right to work in a dignified and challenging job, where they can express their inherent skills and abilities and realize their full potential.

It was an inspiring day, in which we saw the good in Israeli society and the possibility of choosing a business model with economic value for entrepreneurs, customers, and human society in general.

The third part of the tour was dedicated to introducing MindLi, the new platform for lifelong learning.

We were happy to meet, catch up, and spend time together. Thank you to the Babcom team for their warm hospitality and for the privilege of seeing up close the activity at the Call Centers that we all know from the other side of the phone line. And special thanks to the creators and artists we met in the workshops of Tzipor Hanefesh.
